USB Devices Allowed: USB Storage Devices (Thumb Drives and Digital
Cameras)
The Computer Center allows any
USB thumb/flash/pen/etc., storage device or digital camera that will
function using existing hardware and software. No downloading or installing
of additional software will be permitted. No exceptions will be allowed.
Thumb Drives: The thumb drive is
recognized through the USB port that is usually assigned the letter
(E:).
Digital
Cameras: Either connected directly from the camera itself via your cameras
USB cable or use of a USB compatible memory card. The computer should
recognize both of these devices as separate drives.
QuickTime
Picture Viewer is the program used to view photos from
digital cameras. The viewer is accessible from the Start menu.
USB devices/connections not allowed:
your personal computer, scanners, printers, iPods/MuVos
(other music storage devices), digital cameras requiring driver downloads/Camera
Wizard, phones, palm pilots, or any other device that is not a thumb/flash/pen/etc.,
storage device or digital camera.
Only digital cameras that can be read as mass storage devices
may be used.
Do not plug your approved USB device into any port other than the
extension USB cable/port provided.
Port Access: The Teton County Library
and the Computer Center staff are responsible for allowing patrons to
use approved USB devices on Computer Center computers. Staff is responsible
for being able to direct patrons on how to access these ports.
Devices: Computer Center Staff is
responsible for knowing what devices are allowed to be connected via
USB.
Library Patrons are expected to handle,
connect, operate, and troubleshoot any approved hardware that they choose
to use.
The Teton County Library and its
staff are NOT responsible for any damage to patron software, hardware,
or loss of patron files. Staff may NOT handle or operate your USB device's.
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code)
governs the making of reproductions and the performance of copyrighted
material; the person using these materials is liable for any copyright
infringement.
It is illegal for anyone to violate any of the rights provided by
the copyright law to the owner of copyright.
