What The Friends DoThe Friends contribute to every part of the Library through their volunteer work. Friends regularly lend a hand with Library receptions and childrens programs, and help distribute posters for Library events. Books on Wheels volunteers bring Library resources to patrons who are not able to come to the Library. The semi-annual Friends Book Sales have become
community social events. Each sale brings together scores of people to
promote reading and to get as many books as possible, into as many hands
as possible, for as little money as possible. The Senior Book Club meets on the first Tuesday of every month to discuss preselected books, which are provided free of charge by the Friends.
Deliver books to people who are not able to get to the Library. Some opportunities are short-term. Spread the word about Library events! Be a member of our publicity team and distribute posters around town. Yummy treats at special events are part of the Library tradition. Your baked goodies are always welcome. Library hospitality makes patrons feel welcome at our events. Set up, clean up and your welcoming smile are needed for events. For more information contact the Volunteer Coordinator Andy Angstrom at 733-2164 ext 255. Friends have logged thousands of volunteer hours. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helps!
