About Friends

The Friends’ Mission is:

  • to instill passion for learning through the use of Library resources;
  • to support Library programs through volunteerism and hospitality;
  • to promote the Teton County Library as essential to the well-being of the community.

Who are the Friends?

Anyone who volunteers at the library is automatically a member of the Teton County Library Friends. No dues are required - just your time, energy and skills. Members include those who are active Friends, Library Board and Foundation Board members.

What we do

The Friends contribute to every part of the library through their volunteer work. Friends regularly lend a hand with library receptions and children’s programs, and help distribute posters for library events. Library Special Delivery volunteers bring library resources to patrons who are not able to come to the library.

The Teton County Library Friends have opened an ongoing book sale, the Friends Book Nook, to serve the community year-round. The Book Nook features gently used books in many genres including fiction and nonfiction and promotes reading among youth and adults. The goal of the Book Nook is to get as many books as possible, into as many hands as possible, for as little money as possible.

The Friends support Youth Services by helping to set up the auditorium for programs, donning costumes and overseeing tiny hands while they create works of art. Volunteers are especially needed to assist with Children’s Crafts.

The Senior Book Club meets on the first Tuesday of every month to discuss preselected books, which are provided free of charge by the Friends.
