Looking for a CM@R

The Library will begin advertising for a Construction Manager at Risk (CM@R) for its Addition and Renovation Project at the end of January. What's a CM@R? It's a slightly different process than the typical construction bidding process where the agency puts out a full set of construction drawings, accepts bids and then contracts with the lowest bidder. In this process, the Library will be evaluating not only of the potential firms' costs for the project, but also their qualifications to manage the project. One of the parts I like best about this process is that it allows the Library to bring on a general contractor earlier in the project than is typical so as to build a better partnership for developing the construction drawings and project costs.
