October Addition Update from Director Deb Adams, Parking Lot and more
If you’ve been by the library in the last month, you can clearly see the addition and remodel is underway. The most frequently asked question right now is “when will the parking lot be done?“ Our target is the end of October, just three weeks away. Of course, I’m hoping that the current rainy and snowy weather vanishes and Indian summer returns so that we can stay on track.
The structural steel for the children and teens wing has been ordered, and will probably be on site in mid-October. Again, if the weather permits and all concrete gets poured on time, you will likely see the steel framework going up at the end of October, too.
The library is currently looking for a Public Art Coordinator to help the Library Board with a process to incorporate some public art as part of the project. I am so grateful to our Library Foundation for stepping up to the plate to fund this initiative. And, I’m excited by the opportunity to tap the talented artists of our community.
Meanwhile, there is a full slate of library programs for you to join. Check out our calendar at tclib.org/calendar. And, we still have the same great staff here to serve you throughout the construction and remodel. We would be delighted to help you find just what you need.
Deb Adams, Library Director
