Local Architects apply to design Library Addition
September 8th, 2009
My current reading list now includes a stack of proposals from seven local architectural firms and I’m excited about that! I’m excited for two reasons.
First, each of these firms wants to be the one to design the Teton County Library’s proposed addition and remodel. The library continues to burst at the seams with use. This addition will provide much needed space for priorities like teens, collections, quiet study, programs and technology.
Second, I’m delighted to see the wonderful collaborations that are proposed of local architect firms with library designers. It feels good to me to know that the library will have someone from our own community actively involved in designing the library’s future. Still, it’s not going to be easy for the Library Board to choose, but what a great dilemma to have!
Here’s the list of firms who submitted proposals in alphabetical order:
Carney Architects with Bennett Wagner & Grody Architects
Down the Street Collaborative, Roger Strout & Larry Berlin
Gilday Architects with Humphries/Poli Architects
Meyer Scherer & Rockcastle with Dubbe Moulder Architects
Plan One with David Hertz Associates
Ward Blake with Aaron Cohen Associates
Will Bruder + Partners with Stephen Dynia Architects
The Library Board will be making their selection at their board meeting on Wednesday, September 23 at 3:00 p.m.
Happily reading,
Deb
