Quick Update on Library Addition
We anticipate submitting our formal request for an amendment to the Library’s existing Final Development Plan in mid-January 2011. This will kick off the official public review process with the Town of Jackson, and public meetings with the Design Review Committee, Planning Commission and Town Council where they will vote on the Library’s application.
The Library Board has contracted a Project Management Assistant, Zaist Construction Management, to help manage several key aspects of the project, from bidding through construction and safety. One of the tasks for Stan Zaist will be assisting the library with direct purchase of materials to save on sales tax since the Library is exempt.
We’ve had a preliminary meeting around potential LEED certification for the addition and renovation. Our chances of achieving Silver certification are excellent, and Gold is a possibility.
All-in-all, we are on track for a June 2011 groundbreaking.
