See Preliminary Design Options for Library Addition

image
Come see the library’s proposed addition “design-in-progress” at one of two public forums next week:
Monday, December 14, from 5:30-7 p.m., Library Conference Room
Wednesday, December 16, from 5:30-7 p.m., Library Auditorium
Architects Peggy Gilday and Dennis Humphries have been busy putting pencil to paper and will be presenting three options for the layout of the building space, library entrance and parking, as well as outdoor areas.
The plans are in the conceptual stage, but do show possibilities for location of the addition as well as arrangement of the spaces within the entire facility.  For example, you will be able to see where future reading areas may be located.  The architects will discuss pros and cons of each option, and sustainable practices.
The Library Board will review these options at their Thursday, December 17 meeting.  They will provide direction to the architects for further development and presentation of the designs in January.  The Library Board will be selecting its preferred design in January 2010 in order to stay on track for application to the 2010 SPET ballot.
If the times for the forums don’t work for you, stop by the library that same week to see our display with the design options.
We’re working hard so that our library continues to meet the community’s needs!
