Size: Approximately 2000-2400 Square Feet
Configuration: A design which allows for expansion, takes advantage of surrounding vistas. Basically one room with a small enclosed meeting room of 500 square feet. Meeting room walls should be glass from about three feet off the floor to the ceiling on the interior walls. Meeting Room can double as staff, craft, and story time space. A low maintenance building is essential due to small staff, location, and continuing economical operating costs. LEED Silver Rating
Site:
* Native landscaping, grasses and wildflowers, minimum turf
* Encourage pathway opportunities with neighbors
* Encourage opportunity for shared parking with the church next door
* Space needed for two 14’ wide X 26’ long areas for a septic tank and additional space for a replacement
* 10-15’ setbacks from property lines
Exterior:
* Pitched metal roof so snow will slide; not on entrance/exit sides
* Low maintenance exterior
* Consideration of ease of snow plowing and snow storage, drainage
* 3 entrance/exits – two in main part of building, one in meeting room and/or as required 75 pounds per square foot weight bearing capacity for roof or as required
* Close attention to exterior lighting: minimal impact on neighborhood and retain ability to view night sky
* Passive, active solar
Interior:
* Storage closet
* Carpet squares
* Sprinkler system
* Electrical and conduit, data wire

* 150 pounds per square foot weight bearing capacity for floor (minimum)
* Need a sink.
