What we do

The Friends contribute to every part of the Library through their volunteer work. Friends regularly lend a hand with Library receptions and children’s programs, and help distribute posters for Library events. Books on Wheels volunteers bring Library resources to patrons who are not able to come to the Library.

The semi-annual Friends Book Sales have become community social events. Each sale brings together scores of people to promote reading and to get as many books as possible, into as many hands as possible, for as little money as possible.

The Friends support Youth Services by helping to set up the auditorium for programs, donning costumes and overseeing tiny hands while they create works of art. Volunteers are especially needed to assist with Children’s Crafts.

The Senior Book Club meets on the first Tuesday of every month to discuss preselected books, which are provided free of charge by the Friends.
