Wednesdays 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) for qualified, low-income households is available at Teton County Library every Wednesday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Library’s Ordway Auditorium on a first-come, first-serve basis. Bilingual volunteers assist with tax preparation, tax credit eligibility and the electronic filing of federal income taxes. Help is available for lower-income taxpayers including foreign workers and foreign students.

VITA Volunteer Site Co-coordinator John Hebberger, Jr. describes the program:
“The VITA Program has been assisting lower income community members with free tax preparation assistance for seven years now. From 2006 onwards, the Program has prepared more than 1,300 tax returns and helped thousands of local tax payers and their family members. These are community members who often have the least access to information and/or assistance with this annual obligation. Volunteer tax preparers and other volunteers contribute at least 1,000 hours of their time annually, and many of them return to volunteer year after year.”
