Free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) for qualified, low-income households is available at Teton County Library every Wednesday on a first-come, first serve basis. Bilingual volunteers assist with tax preparation, tax credit eligibility and electronic filing of federal income taxes. See below for Income eligibility and a list of what to bring.
The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) gives free help with basic federal tax returns for low income taxpayers including foreign workers and foreign students.

The following documents are required by applicants and must be brought
with the applicant to the tax preparation site:
• A copy of last year’s tax return (if available).
• Correct birth date for all individuals listed on the return.
• Proof of Social Security number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer
Identification Numbers (ITIN).
• W-2 or 1099 form for each job held during the year being filed.
• Original or copy of filer’s valid Driver’s License or other photo ID.
• If electronically filing a joint return, spouse must be present.
