Jackson, WY –Teton County Library Alta Branch staff extend a warm invitation to local seniors to the Second Annual Seniors Open House at the new Alta library on Monday, March 1at 1 p.m. The “Cake and Cowboy Songs” event features local cowboy band Mike Hurwitz and The Aimless Drifters, who will provide entertainment while attendees enjoy desserts, hot chocolate and tea.

“I am excited to present another seniors event, only this time it will be in our very own digs!” said Gretchen Notzold, Alta Branch Library Manager. “We are happy to offer the same cowboy band as last year, since the music was so well-received.”

Hurwitz and his long-time band The Aimless Drifters have a unique vision of country blues and cowboy music in traditional blues, folk, country and western swing styles.

Library volunteers will keep the party going while Alta Branch Library Manager Gretchen Notzold gives tours of the new facility and signs folks up for free library cards. The event is free and open to the community with support from donations, large and small, to the Teton County Library Foundation.

Hours for the new Teton County Library Alta Branch are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 12-6 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Kids and caregivers are invited to weekly Wednesday storytimes from 11-11:45 a.m., which feature stories, songs, arts and crafts.
