Jackson, WY- The Teton County Library Board welcomes two new members, John Hebberger, Jr. and Katherine Dowson, who begin new, three-year terms on July 1, 2014 after being appointed by the Teton County Board of Commissioners. Hebberger and Dowson replace Clark Heindl and Lisa Delaney, who each served two, consecutive three-year terms.

“We’re thankful to Clark and Lisa for their hard work and dedication in seeing the Library through exciting times and look forward to carrying on that good work with John and Katherine,” said Library Director Deb Adams.

imageHebberger joins the board with a wealth of Library experience, having served as president of the Library Friends Board and as a volunteer for Library programs, including free tax assistance, Inter-Library Loan, Friends Book Sales, the Book Nook and the popular Geologists of Jackson Hole program. Hebberger also served on the Library Foundation Board for six years.

Dowson first came to Jackson Hole as a camper and staff member at Teton Valley Ranch Camp. She moved to the area in 1988 and has worked for many valley nonprofits, including Friends of Pathways where she currently serves as Interim Executive Director.

The Library Board also elected new officers, voting for Jim Moses to serve as Board President and Carol Peck as Vice President.

Meanwhile, Lisa Delaney will continue to share her expertise and passion for the library by beginning a new, two-year term on July 1, 2014 on the Library Friends Board, where she has been elected Board President. The Friends Board also elected Louise Lasley, a volunteer shelf reader and tax preparer, as vice president. Jennifer Dorsey, who organizes hospitality for library programs, will serve as secretary while Kelly Bass and Ron Stevens, who volunteer in the Book Nook, will serve as co-treasurers for the Friends Board. Bob Wemple, who volunteers his financial expertise in the library’s free tax preparation program, will serve as an at-large member. Anyone who volunteers at the Library is automatically a member of Teton County Library Friends.

Two Library Board members also serve simultaneously on the Library Foundation Board. Library Board President Jim Moses will continue to serve on the Foundation Board while Board Member Carol Peck will join the Foundation Board on July 1, 2014.
