The Library Board voted today to adopt all but one proposed change to the Library Fees Policy. To allow for enough time to inform patrons and set up appropriate systems, changes will not go into effect until October 1, 2014.
The New Library Fees Policy:
• Overdue Fines
Fines would accrue up to a $3 maximum per item. No change to daily fine accrual, which is $.10/day per three-week item and $1/day per one-week item. The $10 total maximum per card no longer applies.
• Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Fees
ILL fee would increase to $2 per item, while the $.50 article/journal fee would no longer be collected.
• Non-resident Cards
Anyone living outside of Teton County, Wyo. will need to purchase an annual, non-resident card for $20. As part of a state-wide system, all Wyoming library card holders can use their cards at Teton County Library.
• Lost Part Fees
Full replacement cost of an item would be charged when one or more parts are missing or damaged.
The board’s decision followed a public comment period from March 5 – May 5, with 80 written comments received. One person gave input at the Public Hearing.
