According to the December, 2003 University of Wyoming survey of Teton County households, 88% of adults have a Teton County Library card, compared to the national average of 62%. Ninety-three percent of people interviewed reported visiting the Teton County Library in the last year. Thirty-five percent visit the Library on a monthly basis; 34% come to the Library weekly. Annual attendance as of June 30, 2004 has reached 290,000 people, up 42% since 1999.

The Library's collection is comprised of 104, 357 items, including books, CDs, movies, audiobooks, magazines and electronic databases, an increase of 62% in the last five years.

Last year, library patrons checked out 372,829 materials, an increase of 87% since June 1999. Nationwide, the average circulation of library materials per capita is 6.8; for Wyoming, that figure is 7.82. Teton County stands out with per capita circulation of 19.2.

Patrons seek the answers to more than 30,000 reference questions each year. This reflects a 51% increase in a five year period for the Jackson facility; and a 594% increase at the Alta Branch.

The Library's Youth Services department presented storytimes, summer reading programs, crafts, puppet shows, poetry readings and theater performances to 9,863 children in Jackson and 2,559 in Alta last year. The Library reached out to more than 700 Latino children through its children's programming.

Computer and Internet use totaled 114,096 user sessions by the end of June, 2004, more than double the use just five years ago. For the Alta Branch, computer and Internet use has tripled in that same time period.

The Library's Web site sees an average of 2,250 visits each month.

The Friends of Teton County Library contributed 5,418 hours to further Library programs and services, up 3,338 hours since 1999.
