CD Picks from Joe

Since our Library Summer Fun theme is "Rock -n- Read," we asked Joe, who buys the adult music CDs for the library, to recommend some new music.

From The Fires by Greta Van Fleet - Camping not really your thing? Well then, let this Led Zeppelin-esque (no seriously) band keep you warm and help you get wild.

Revamp: Reimagining the songs of Elton John & Bernie Taupin - Going on a road trip with your teenagers? What better way to bridge the age gap by having some of todays most popular acts (Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran, Pink, Logic etc) cover the great Sir Elton John.

7 by Beach House - Whether you're actually going to a beach house or just need to mentally escape, Beach Houses' hypnotic melodies and rich vocals will make it seem like you're (metaphorically) hearing the gentle lapping of the ocean.

On the Rocks by Midland - Some new good ol' fashioned Nashville country with steel guitar, heart break and drinkin'. Great pregame for any rodeos you may be attending.

The Strange Journey Into the Unimaginable by MURS -  Whether your journeys take you near or far, this album puts deep approachable lyricism on full display, although fair warning from the artist himself, “This is not really music, it’s me dealing with my thoughts."
