Register for reading sessions with therapy dogs
Our NEW ‘Ruff Readers’ program invites children, ages 6 to 12, to improve their reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to therapy dogs. Register for 20-minute sessions from 6 to 7:30 p.m., the third Wednesday of the month (April 19, May 17, June 21). Sign up at the youth desk or call 733-2164 x103.
Ruff Readers is a partnership between Teton County Library and Teton County Pet Partners.
How it works
The reader chooses from books in the library’s collection and then reads aloud to the therapy dog. The dog’s handler encourages the child to interact with the dog and may offer reading help if the child requests it. All dogs and handlers are registered through Pet Partners Therapy Animals.
