The Auditorium is the center of weekly Storytimes and entertainment for toddlers, preschoolers and visiting elementary classes. Visiting children and parents may also "board" the Book Boat for relaxing private reading.
Six Internet access computers are available for patrons ages 18 and under. Adults must use the Computer Center access in the main Library. Access is limited to designated time limits, depending on demand, per day. Preregistration is allowed but choice of computer station cannot be honored. Adult supervision is recommended.
Two game computers offer multi-age access to several educational software programs and computer games. Each station has its own sign-up sheet and use is limited to one 30-minute turn per day. Computer sign-up is required either by a child or parent. Preschool age users must be accompanied by an adult.
Our parent and child friendly corner provides lounging space for caregivers who want to relax with their babies or read stories to their children.
A large fenced yard with a life-size tipi is attached to the Youth
Services Room. Special events, Library parties and storytimes are held
in the backyard during spring, summer and fall months. Parents and children
are welcome to visit the yard, but children under the age of 12 must
be supervised.
