All materials check out for three weeks, except for videos which check out for one week.
The children's collection includes picture books, novels and nonfiction. Children's fiction is organized into separate sections according to age-appropriate reading levels, and books are filed alphabetically by author.
The growing Spanish Collection circulates nearly 1,200 nonfiction and fiction books, books-on-tape, CD-ROMs, videos, music recordings and English literacy materials.
This collection of more than 400 books, magazines, videos and cassettes focuses on the educational, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being of children. Frequently requested topics include sibling rivalry, reading achievement, disabilities, bedtime woes, and helping a child deal with death, divorce or violence. A title for every parenting challenge is on our bookshelf.
Reference materials include children's encyclopedias, atlases, dictionaries and literature materials, which are normally for in-library use only. Four free photocopies of any reference material are allowed per visit. Additional copies are 15 cents each.
A variety of magazines and monthly periodicals for all reading levels are available for check out.
Items from the extensive video collection include multi-age educational videos and books adapted for video and cartoons.
The music collection includes everything from lullabies for toddlers to children's pop, folk, world, country, classical and holiday music.
More than 900 multiple level books-on-tape circulate in our collection.
The CD-ROM collection contains materials for toddlers through young adult user levels and supports both Macintosh and Windows platforms.
