Call for Artists
eight
Local artists, your Library is calling!
We’re looking for the artist who we’ll hire to make the original graphic design that best interprets our new motto “The Library is calling, and I must go.” The art will be used on Library swag and in various Library marketing campaigns for the next few years—and quite possibly will become as ubiquitous as the “Stayed for the Library” campaign we have used for several years.
How to be considered: Submit a one-page pdf with 3-4 examples of artwork from your existing portfolio to communications@tclib.org. (We are not asking for you to interpret our new motto until you are selected.)
When: Deadline for submissions is May 13, by 5:00 p.m.
Who: Artists living and working in the Teton County area (includes surrounding commuter communities and the Wind River Reservation).
Then what: Our art review committee will notify you of the outcome of our selection process by May 30. We hope to reveal the new sticker design this summer!
We look forward to seeing your work! Please direct any questions to communications@tclib.org.
About our past Library campaign
Teton County Library’s popular “Came for ________, Stayed for the Library” stickers and art have been gracing bumpers, water bottles, laptops, t-shirts, trucker hats, Thule racks, onesies, Noso patches and coffee mugs for several years, with eight different whimsical designs created throughout the duration of the campaign by artist Walter Gerald. Maybe you have one or two of them yourself!
